Amazing B&B. I have no complaints. I will definitely stay here again on my next vacation. Easiest five stars i have ever given.
My husband and I stayed at Higher Woodley Bed and Breakfast for the night of a friend's wedding. I can't recommend it highly enough - Judith and her husband couldn't have been nicer (helping me with a minor dress-malfunction minutes after we arrived and even driving us to the venue.) The room was lovely and clean, the bed SO comfortable and the breakfast absolutely delicious. We've already recommended it to my husband's parents who now want to stay there too! An easy five stars.
My wife and I have recently spent three nights at the home of Judith & Peter Blowey - Higher Woodly Farm. We must agree with all previous reviewers and cannot fault this 'Bed and Breakfast' accomodation. Evertything about it was excellent. The hospitality was such that you really did think you were at home. For the time you are there you are made to feel like a member of the family.
Breakfast was anything you wanted - local produce cooked to perfection.
All furnishings were to a very high standard. Nothing was to much trouble for Judith & Peter and they really did go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. There is a wealth of information in both your room and the lounge.
From the moment we arrived we were made welcome and were were truly sorry to leave.
In sharing the breakfast table with others enabled you to make new friends and we went out with another couple for two evening meals.(They had visited on 6 or 7 previous ocassions- a recommendation in itself) There are several local Inns for an evening meal and we would recommend 'The Crown' about 2 miles down the lane.
The Post Code covers all properties in the lane (no name) but most properties have names at the gate.
It is a peaceful place to stay but ideally situated to explore East Cornwall and Dartmoor with plenty of places to visit.
We would highly recommend 'Higher Woodley Farm' for a home from home stay.
A wonderful, wonderful stay at this perfect farmhouse B&B. The room is extremely clean and well decorated, and breakfast is delicious. Judith is a warm and kind hostess with plenty of local advice on places to visit and eat. Peter is also full of good humour and interesting info about the local land and agriculture. Peter gave my 3 year old daughter a tour of the new born calves and the cow shed - she loved it. Kit the collie dog was great fun, chasing after her toy. My daughter cried when we left - we'll be back again soon!
We stayed at this B & B for two nights and we wished we could have stayed longer.
We arrived at farm at 6 o'clock and having been shown our room we were offered a very welcome cup of tea which was set out for us in a very comfortable sitting room for guest use. Judith and Peter were both extremely welcoming and friendly. Judith suggested a good 'inn' to go to for an evening meal and then went and booked it up for us.
The whole place is tastefully and well furnished, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The rooms were light and airy and the bed and bedding comfortable. There are lovely extras in the bathroom and fresh flowers everywhere. There was plenty of hot water for showers. The breakfast is really a feast and your individual requirements are willingly catered for.
As we were going to a wedding Judith offered the iron and anything else we might need. Both Peter and Judith are most wonderful hosts.
An excellent B & B, would definitely like to go back and would also recommend to friends and family.
